St. Thomas University Benjamin L. Crump College of Law Clinches Victory in 2024 Chester Bedell Memorial Mock Trial Competition
The St. Thomas University Benjamin L. Crump College of Law were triumphant returning champions of the 2024 Chester Bedell Memorial Mock Trial Competition, securing their first-place position at this event hosted by the Florida Bar Association’s Trial Lawyers Section.
In a riveting final round trial, St. Thomas Law faced off against the formidable Stetson University College of Law, ultimately solidifying their status as the best in the competition.
A standout individual in this year’s competition, Valentina Grizales of St. Thomas Law was honored with the title of 2024 Best Advocate. Anna Padron from Stetson Law was recognized as the Best Advocate Runner-Up.
“It is always such a pleasure to get to see the next generation of Florida trial lawyers in action at the Bedell Competition,” said Whitney Untiedt, co-chair of the event. “I continue to be impressed by the dedication and skill of the law student competitors, and I look forward to welcoming them to the profession.”
As part of the event, Judge Milton Hirsch of the 11th Judicial Circuit of Florida delivered the inspiring keynote speech at the 40th Chester Bedell Memorial Luncheon.
Judge Roy B. “Skip” Dalton, Jr., Senior Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, judged the final round of the competition.
